Express  Entry

Express  Entry

Canada recently introduced a new system for organizing and processing applications for people who want to immigrate into the country and become permanent residents. The selection system is referred to as Express Entry and it is used to process most of the immigration applications in for skilled and qualified workers who wish to come into Canada.

Some of the improvement that the Express Entry (EE) system brought into the Canadian immigration process is a faster processing time, a greater emphasis on quality control of applications, and an increase in the accessibility level for candidates from a wider range of occupations. The system also makes the whole process more competitive.

Express Entry manages the application process for the following three economic programs offered by immigration Canada.

  • Federal Skilled Trades Program.
  • Federal Skilled Worker Program.
  • Canadian Experience Class.

The Canadian immigration authorities are tasked with choosing the applicants that they feel are most likely to contribute meaningfully to Canadian society through the early economic establishment.

What is the EE application process?

Let’s look at the workable steps for the EE application process.

Submit your EE profile

First, you have to create an online profile, then you express your interest by submitting your candidacy online. You are then required to provide necessary information outlining your work experience, education, language proficiency, and other personal data. If you don’t have a Canadian job offer already, you must enlist with the Job Bank, so that employers can see you as a prospective employee.

It is vital that you take your time filling your information, as any false information could disqualify you. With the help of an immigration law firm like AKM Law, you don’t really have to worry about this, as our lawyers are experienced in handling these cases.

Apply for permanent resident status

Canadian employers and the provincial and federal governments of Canada will access the candidate pool when choosing qualifying applicants. They then choose the most appealing candidates will be asked to apply for a permanent resident status alongside those that already have provincial nominations or employment offers.

If you are chosen, you are then given an invitation to apply for the Canadian permanent residency status. You will have to submit an e-application for the PR status within 60 days of receiving the invitation.

The applications will be processed in about 6 months from the submission date and you should ensure that you submit all the supporting documentation and requisite forms within this time. After completing your Express Entry process, you and your dependent family members can get Canadian permanent residency.

The Express Entry application process is relatively new so many people don’t know about the process yet. This is why a lot of applications are rejected because of errors and mistakes made by the applicants. With the help of competent and experienced lawyers, you can be sure of getting your application right the first time, so you can get the process started quickly.
